Anthonie Tonnon

Among the pop artists of New Zealand, Anthonie Tonnon qualifies as an admirable journeyman. As Tono and the Finance Company, he released the Fragile Thing EP in 2010 and followed under the same guise in 2013 with a debut LP called Up Here For Dancing. Two years late, in 2015, he returned simply as Anthonie Tonnon, with a sophomore album on Misra Records titled Successor. Between records, he has toured extensively, including the US and Australia, spent time writing news at Auckland’s 95bFM, writing for The Wireless and The Pantograph Punch, and being a freelance reporter for Radio NZ among other roles. An internationally lauded performer, Tonnon’s latest singles - “Two Free Hands”, “Old Images”, and “Mataura Paper Mill” - have been rapturously received in advance of his next impending full-length LP on Misra Records. That album, Leave Love Out of This, will be released in September.
