centro-matic

A prolific, eclectic alt-country band based in Denton, Texas, Centro-matic began in 1995. By 2003, they had signed with Misra Records and released the first album under this partnership, Love You Just the Same (followed shortly by the accompanying EP Flashes and Cables).

Centro-matic was similarly busy in 2006, releasing the Triggers and Trash Heaps EP and full-length LP Fort Recovery. Things slowed down after, with Centro-matic issuing a two-disc album with South San Gabriel (2008's Dual Hawks) before Johnson took some time off to play drums with Monsters of Folk. In 2014, Centro-matic disbanded. Will Johnson embarked on a solo career, in addition to becoming a painter.
